Harvest and Cooking Tour in the Province of Teramo in Abruzzo
Home-Base: L'Orso and L' Ape Farmhouse
Leave the USA on September 1.
Pick-Up Location: Giulianova, Abruzzo, Italy
This tour in Abruzzo, Italy, centers on the region's rich harvest. Guests will stay at a charming farmhouse overlooking the Adriatic Sea, engaging in unique culinary experiences like wine and olive oil production. The journey includes daily cultural excursions, cooking classes in Italy, wine tasting, olive oil tasting, food discovery, and authentic interactions with the locals. Notably, this area is also the birthplace of Chef Walter.
Today's traveler seeks more than just a meal; they desire longevity, intimacy, and community. Abruzzo offers all three. It's Italy's best-kept secret—a rugged landscape where shepherds move with the seasons, wine ages in mountain cellars, untouched by export, and traditional diets have sustained generations.
Join Chef Walter for a week that redefines culinary tourism as true well-being. We'll knead pasta with grandmothers who have never written a recipe down. We'll savor Montepulciano d'Abruzzo poured from unlabeled bottles meant only for friends. Our adventures will include hiking through national parks to reach farmers practicing age-old agriculture methods. This is not merely a tour; it's participation. You become part of a community that values connection over consumption, tradition over trend. Small groups, intimate settings, and authentic encounters transform you from mere observer to active participant.
Chef Walter crafted this journey around the rhythms of rural life—slow mornings, long lunches, and evenings enriched with stories and local wine. He welcomes you not as a guest but as family. By the week's end, you'll take home not just recipes but a profound understanding of what nourishes us beyond the plate.
Rediscover the Italy that tourists often overlook. Savor the difference that tradition makes.
Feel what it means to belong.
